Unmanned airships operating in the lower layers of the Stratosphere (20 Km) and keeping a quasi-fixed 3-axis position providing continuous coverage of a specific Area Of Interest (AOI) during several months. Housekeeping data and information acquired by payloads are sent in real-time to a Ground Control Station using a RF encrypted link.

Company history

Incorporated in 2017, smartHAPS was supported by ESA Business Incubation Center Madrid Region. Since then, the company stablished and consolidated an extended networking with a group of strategic entities ranging from Universities to Research Institutes and Governmental Departments.

The founders have a strong technical background in Systems Engineering, Electronics & SW design and Communications in the fields of Space, Aeronautics, Maritime and Unmanned Systems, as well as a solid experience in non-technical issues related to Commercial, Finances and Business Management.
